Who we are

evaa stands for South Tyrol Anthropological Association (the official name is Ethnologischer Verein Südtirol /  Associazione Antropologica Alto Adige / Assoziaziun Antropologica Südtirol in the three official languages of South Tyrol, namely German, Italian and Ladin).

The association was founded on February, 18th, 2011 in Bolzano (Italy) and is dedicated to the discipline of social and cultural anthropology, its topics and the knowledge which is generated by social and cultural anthropology.

Research – Networking – Information

evaa aims to provide a platform for the exchange and networking of ethnologists, students, people and institutions interested in ethnology, and to promote ethnological research.

The association comprises a pool of ethnological experts that can be accessed for research, lectures or other contributions on specific topics of socio-cultural life.

The association also aims to present this discipline, which is extremely topical for South Tyrol but still little known, and its results to the public.

evaa events are open to the public and are explicitly aimed at a broad audience interested in ethnology in order to address and discuss current socio-cultural and politically interesting topics and debates.
